WA HeartLinks Grants

Consistent with The Links, Incorporated HeartLinks to Heart Health signature program, the primary goal of the WA grant program is to raise awareness about the seriousness of heart disease as the number one killer of women and to motivate women to take action toward lowering and/or controlling related risk factors.

2. Promote Heart Truth, the Red Dress symbol, and the campaign’s key messages

3. Provide heart disease risk factor screenings to inform women of their personal risk for coronary heart disease

4. Educate women about lifestyle behaviors that promote heart health and lower or control their risk for developing coronary heart disease

5. Encourage and motivate women to take steps for adopting a heart healthy lifestyle

6. Increase outreach to high-risk underserved women, particularly women of color, from low-income communities, rural areas or vulnerable geographic regions having high prevalence and high-mortality rates from coronary heart disease
