Stephany Powell WA Human Trafficking Chair
As a member of The Links, Incorporated for fourteen(14) years and a proud graduate of the Scott Hawkins Leadership Institute (SHLI) Cohort II, I bring a host of transferable skills requisite to the position and a commitment to serve: fast, efficient and effective; an eye for detail; superior organizational skills; the ability to amass information, synthesize and disseminate to key stake holders; timely; and, a willingness to support others and do what is needed when called upon. I am seeking your vote for the position of Western Area (WA) Recording Secretary. I would be privileged to bring my expertise, experiences and skills in technology driven record capturing and management systems to build upon the foundation of our present systems and to ensure the viability and vitality of the operations and programs of The Links, Incorporated. During my tenure as chapter president, my chapter has awakened to a higher level of friendship and service through the principles gleaned from my participation in the SHLI - understanding and embodying servant leadership, mastering and utilizing emotional intelligence, and leveraging the strengths and resources of intellectual capital at the Area and National levels. We have successfully secured high level grants from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office on Women's Health, Washington, DC, The Links Foundation, Incorporated and Toyota with a focus on combating childhood obesity. My work at the Western Area level includes two 2-year terms as a member of the WA Nominating Committee where I ensured that candidates to be voted upon met the specific qualifications set forth in our documents, and that these documents were properly processed; and my role as the current WA Conference Evaluations Chair to increase membership engagement through solicitation of conference feedback. I have also served many years as a Western Area program reviewer. I have served tirelessly at the chapter level as Facet Chair of National Trends and Services, Corresponding Secretary, Fundraiser Chair, 2nd VP, Chair of Programs, President and Recording Secretary.
