FACET HIGHLIGHTS
The National Trends and Services motto is If Not Us then Who? The Western Area led our communities through education and awareness on the issues of Gun violence, voting initiatives, and human trafficking.
Highlights included Trilogy, a year long collaboration with NTS Chapter Facet leaders, the East Texas Chapter, the Central Texas, the Houston Texas Clusters, HBCU presidents, and a world class panel of experts. Over one hundred students were in attendance from five Historically Black Colleges, Texas Southern, Wiley University, Jarvis University, Texas College, St. Phillips University and Huston Tillotson University.
Seventy percent of Chapters hosted human trafficking events, posted the hotline number on social media, or partnered with human trafficking non-profits, approximately 4,000 lives touched. El Paso Chapter coordinated, a 2-day 12 hour training with the El Paso Police Department on the subjects of Human Trafficking Investigations and victimology.
Palos Verdes Chapter educated 500 students and administrators on human trafficking awareness; Orange County Chapter reached over in 700 people on their social media
Platform.
Chapters held community service events such as financial wellness and career development. Fort Bend hosted a Career Fair of over 200 people and Phoenix Chapter hosted over 650 high school students.
The NTS Facet Chair presented at a Links National Webinar on Human Trafficking Awareness, 1,500 links were in attendance and conducted youth human trafficking workshops in eight chapters.
